NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) provide vital services to the NHS, improving patient outcomes and saving lives. We have a fantastic opportunity for you to become part of our essential work by joining our Therapeutic Apheresis teams.

Our Therapeutic Apheresis Units provide specialist patient treatments from units based within NHS Trusts across England. Our teams deliver a range of therapeutic apheresis procedures for adults and children across a range of clinical specialties; performing stem cell harvests, white cell depletions, red cell exchanges and providing plasma exchanges for neurology and haematology patients. We are a leading provider of extracorporeal photopheresis services.

As a nurse practitioner working for NHSBT you will be based predominantly in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth to carry out therapeutic apheresis treatments. For the purposes of initial and on-going training you will have the opportunity to work closely with the team in the Bristol TAS Unit who will provide you with on-going support and expertise.

You will be an experienced, registered adult nurse with current general NMC registration (RNA or RN1). No prior knowledge of therapeutic is required because in-house full training will be given. However, success in this role will depend on excellent communication skills to develop and build relationships, and you will be confident working on your own and in part of a team.

As well as your nursing registration, you will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience in an appropriate clinical area, such as Haematology, Neurology, Acute Medicine/Surgery, ICU/CCU or Haemodialysis/Apheresis.

Your routine working week will be Monday to Friday, the number of days and start and finish times are negotiable.

For an informal discussion in relation to this role, please contact Kay Harding – Senior Nurse Manager TAS, at email: Kay.Harding@nhsbt.nhs.uk

This is a unique role that gives both a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to travel to and work within another TAS Units. NHSBT is a great national organisation to work for and we offer a rewarding career with great benefits, plus every opportunity for development through a comprehensive in-house training package and support for academic study.

This vacancy will close at 23:59 on Wednesday 19th September 2018 (subject to change).
